An ongoing experiment observing how plants grow,
Some investigations and seeds to sow.
Cress, broad beans, and peas germinating,
Keeping track of the observations we're making.
 
Similes, adjectives and conjunctions at play,
In the journey tales we wrote in May.
Powerful verbs and alliteration,
Sequencing sentences in our narrations.


Multiplication and division of fives, tens and twos,
Representations with arrays to see which answers to use.
Fractions of shapes and quantities,
Finding a quarter and a half of both of these.
Changing directions clockwise and anticlockwise,
Looking at shapes with 1/4, 1/2 or full turn to identify.


Queen Victoria, who is she?
We've been leaning about her in history.
9 children and a record reign on the throne,
An ancestor of our King and she called our island home.
 
"Ay, ee, igh, ow and ue" so many sounds but they're not new for you,
Practicing for our Phonics Screening in June, so many real and nonsense words too.

Learning to create pictures on the iPad with annotations,
Exploring tools, colours and using our imaginations.
 
So much is happening in Year 1,
We're working hard and having fun!
The weekend has just begun,

Year 3 have enjoyed an action-packed week, from mastering tag-rugby skills and exploring 3-digit numbers to writing mysterious cave adventures. Forest School brought even more excitement as the children learned knot-tying skills and worked together to build storm shelters.

Underwater Adventures, Woodland Sprites and Hot Chocolate in Year 4!

Year 4 have enjoyed another action-packed week, creating imaginative underwater worlds, tackling 4-digit numbers and heading outdoors for Forest School. From building dens and woodland sprites to learning how to safely make a fire, there’s been plenty of adventure!

Amazon Adventures, Forest School and Decimal Discoveries in Year 5!

Year 5 have made a fantastic start, journeying into the Amazon with The Explorer, discovering decimals and creating vivid setting descriptions. They’ve also been developing their rugby and invasion game skills before heading outdoors for their first Forest School adventures!

Secret Agents, Sketchbooks and Seven-Digit Numbers in Year 6!

Year 6 have made a brilliant start to the year, diving into Stormbreaker, tackling numbers up to 10 million and creating detailed outdoor sketches. Add descriptive writing, rugby and energetic circuit training, and it’s already been an action-packed few weeks!

Oceans, Fruit Dissections and Sports Day Fun!

It’s been an action-packed week of discovery, from viewing the world’s oceans from space to dissecting fruit and investigating seeds. Add an energetic Sports Day, a family picnic and a well-earned ice cream, and there was plenty to celebrate!

Friction, Fitness and Fantastic Writing in Year 5!

Year 5 have shown brilliant resilience and maturity this week, adapting to working in the hall while continuing to produce excellent work. From creative writing and scientific investigations to Joe Wicks workouts and exciting reading discussions, the class have impressed every day.

Darwin, Digital Designs and Rounders in the Sunshine for Year 6!

Year 6 have enjoyed a focused and productive week balancing SATs preparation with exciting learning across the curriculum. From researching Charles Darwin and designing websites to teamwork-filled rounders matches, the children have shown confidence, creativity and fantastic support for one another.

Church Visits, Cheeky Seagulls and Number Puzzles in Year 1!

Year 1 have made a fantastic start to the Summer Term with church visits, creative English lessons and challenging maths puzzles. From learning about special celebrations with Father Tony to exploring The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch, the children have shown curiosity, confidence and determination.
