“On the crisp, white tablecloth stood a shining silver jug. Beside it was a vulnerable jelly wobbling in fear. The flowers smelt sweet along with sugar and hot pies with scones on the side.”
We’ve been developing our comprehension skills with Friend or Foe by Michael Morpurgo—learning about the context of the story.
The children have enjoyed sharing their own experiences of relatives who served in the wars.
Year 4 have been developing their understanding of decimals, place value and rounding and made connections between these skills and real life situations.
We have been looking at Indian Art and forming opinions on new styles we haven’t seen before.
